Muscle Strains

Have you ‘Pulled’ or ‘Strained’ a Muscle recently?
Let us help get it sorted here at The Physio & Sports Injury Clinic in Rhos on Sea without the need for taking lots of Anti-inflammatory medications & pain killers.

A pulled muscle or tendon refers to localised damage to a soft tissue structure when sudden tension has been applied to it. This can cause either an overstretch or a tear. A ‘pull’ to a muscle/tendon is called a Strain, but a pulled ligament is called a Sprain!

Muscle strains are an incredibly common injury and can easily be done. They are often caused by lack of flexibility from: not warming up enough or from doing too much physical activity e.g. lifting or running.

Does This Sound Like You?

  • You’ve hurt yourself and are ignoring the pain whilst trying to continue.

  • Bruising or swelling has appeared in the area of injury?

  • Moving the injury area hurts.

  • Have you taken ibuprofen and its not helping?

  • You’ve tried rest, but as soon as you go back to activity it comes back again.

  • You’ve tried self-diagnosing the problem on Google, which just worries you more.
