Rachel Johncock - Testimonial

My name is Rachel Johncock, I am 15 and I am a sprinter running for Colwyn Bay and as a Welsh international.

Last year I was selected for the Welsh Development Talent Academy (WDTA) as one of 13 athletes throughout Wales with world class potential.

Steve has been patching me up and looking after me for the last 3 years.

This year especially he has had his work cut out as in terms of injury I have not had a good year. Without Steve I would not be where I am today, that is ranked number 2 in the UK for the under 15 girls 200m, a new Celtic record holder and all time Welsh record holder breaking a 25 year old 200m record in 24.82 seconds. Only 1 other under 15 female has dipped below 25 seconds in the UK this year.

Steve with his expertise, dedication, and encouragement has made all of this possible. Due to the high demands of training, the threat of injury is always just around the corner.

First it was patella tendonitis, 8 weeks out and a missed indoor season. Then, just as things were starting to look good after claiming double gold in 100m and 200m at the Welsh championships disaster struck. I picked up a calf injury whilst winning the Welsh Schools 100m and 200m at Brecon.

I just had to be fit to run in the England championships in Birmingham which was the UK event of the Year.

Steve saw me straight away, told me not to panic, that he would sort me out and that I would be fit to run in Birmingham. That is what he promised and that is what he did. 4 weeks later I came back from  Birmingham with a Bronze medal, I was delighted. Without Steve it just would not have happened. Thanks Steve ! (although I still haven’t forgiven him for calling me p***y).

I forgot to mention he has a wicked sense of humour and he treated my sister for an ankle injury when it threatened her 18th birthday celebrations. Another satisfied customer.

We wouldn’t  go anywhere else.
